James was born on December 16, 1953, in Jackson, MS, to Mr. JM Butler and Mrs. Dorothy Brown Butler.
James or Mike, as he was known as, loved to be around his family and friends. His favorite times were spent outdoors. Everyone that met him heard about his favorite memories of the squirrels and raccoons that he rescued over the years. He was a man of great strength and passion for the things he wanted in life
Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Charity Downing, Shannon Medlock, and Jessica Martin; sister, Diane McGee; and brother, Jeff Butler.
A visitation will be held at Baldwin Lee in Pearl Mississippi. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm. Graveside services will take place at Richland Cemetery on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 10am in Richland, MS.
