Visitation will be 11:00am-2:00pm, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in the Palestine Cemetery.
Mr. Means was a member of First Baptist Church, Florence. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Springfield. He was an avid golfer and football fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Sandifer Means, parents, Claude W. and Gladys Means, brother, John E. Means, and sisters, Helen Howell and Merle McGee.
Survivors include son, James H. Means, Jr. of Florence; sisters Betty Myers (Glen), and Renvah James (Bracy); brother, Dwyn Means; sisters-in-law, Anita Means, Barbara Harrington (Lewis), and Ernestine Frazier (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
James Means was a special individual and loved by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Mississippi School for the Deaf.
