James R. "Butch" Davis

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

He was born May 25, 1943 in Greenwood. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Mississippi Delta Junior College. Mr. Davis was retired from South Central Bell in 2002 and was able to live his dream of retiring to the Smoky Mountain area. He was a member of the Maryville Church of Christ and his hobbies included fishing, spending time with his family and enjoying nature’s beauty.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lera McBride.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Davis of Maryville, TN; daughters, Suzanne Davis of Maryville, TN and Kim Layton of Brandon; son-in-law, David Michael Layton of Gulf Shores, AL; grandchildren, Derrick Layton of Gulf Shores, AL and Ashley Layton of Brandon; great-grandson, Jayden Knight of Brandon; special cousins, Bo Cleveland of McCarley and Dusty Hydrick of Boyle; and his canine companion, Scooter.
