

A celebration of life visitation for James will be held at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home on July 11, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry Sherman and mother Emily Sherman.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley Sherman, brothers Woody Sherman (Ginger) of Brandon, Mississippi and Morris Sherman of Arlington, Texas, sons Joshua Sherman (Meredith) of Summerville, South Carolina and Chase Sherman (Marianne) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his stepchildren Erik Marble (Blythe) of Brandon, Mississippi and Candice Quick (Josh) of Chunky, Mississippi. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mackenzie Quick, Lily Quick, Easton Sherman, Emmie Jane Quick, Frankie Jo Sherman, Lincoln James Sherman, and Blakely Marble, plus nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
James was a proud member of the 1969 graduating class of Wingfield High School and has maintained friendships with so many from this class over the years. James spent most of his sales career in food distribution and coffee sales until his retirement in 2013. He lived the last 35 years along with his wife in the south Jackson/Byram communities while he enjoyed golfing with his youngest son and watching his oldest son play semi-pro baseball.
