The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 22, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
She was born March 12, 1936 in Weir, Mississippi to the late Stranburg Worrell and Mazie Gladney Worrell. Jimmie Sue was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pearl and at various times served as church pianist there. She loved children and felt God's call to lead them to Jesus through her service as Vacation Bible School Director/Teacher and as Daycare Director/Teacher through the years. In her free time, she loved doing crafts, such as sewing, painting, and ceramics. The most important thing Jimmie Sue would like you to know is her love for God. Her favorite scripture was 1 John 4:7-16
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Vindex Upchurch, Jr.
Jimmie Sue is survived by her son, Ray Upchurch (Dawn) of Brandon, MS; daughter, Janet Gresham (Perry) of Stafford, VA; grandchildren, Megan Miller (Noah), Emily Tisdale (Andrew), Jake Gresham (Aileen), Cole Gresham, and Ethan Gresham; and four great-grandchildren.
