He and Lynn raised their children and lived in Belzoni for many years before making their home in Pearl. He loved being with his family and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy was a mechanic by trade, known for his passion for Snap-On Tools. He dedicated many years volunteering at the Belzoni Fire Department. In his later years his favorite pastime was mowing his yard and several of his elderly neighbors’ yards as well.
He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl, MS where he and Lynn were members of the Co-ed II Sunday School class.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Judy Pierce Lewis and Penny Pierce Miller.
He is survived by his wife Lynn Kilpatrick Pierce, daughters, Dana Pierce Jones (Bryan)-Brandon, MS and Annabeth Pierce Pearson (Kevin) – Hattiesburg, MS. Affectionately known as “Pop” to 7 grandchildren, Carley Jones Thomas (Scott) – Paducah, KY, Ashton Johnston (Laken) – Brandon, MS, Lyndi Jones Latham (Micheal Ray) – Pelahatchie, MS, Jacob Jones – Brandon, MS, Cody McLendon – Brandon, MS, Crystal McLendon Stotts (Tevin) – Brandon, MS, and Shelby McLendon – Hattiesburg, MS. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Scott Thomas III, Everett Thomas, Jane Kennedy Thomas, Ashlynn Johnston and Emma Johnston, sisters, Debbie Pierce Jones (Travis) – Brandon, MS and Sherry Pierce Jones – Pearl, MS. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ashton Johnston, Jacob Jones, Junior Lewis, Jeffery Jones, Cody Vincent, and Lance Vincent.
