Scott was born June 5, 1963, in Jackson. Growing up Scott was an exuberant, high spirited boy, prone to mischief but full of fun and laughter. He was a 1981 graduate of Brandon Academy, and he and his brother were roommates at the University of Mississippi where he graduated in 1988 with Bachelor’s Degrees in both banking and managerial finance.
In 1984 Scott married the love of his life, Renee Parkerson, and they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. A loving and attentive father, Scott delighted in coaching his daughter’s softball team for the Pearl Youth Association. With the birth of his granddaughter Scott became “Papa”, his favorite role in life, and he was the perfect play-doh buddy.
Scott was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, and had a lengthy career in sales with Anderson Chemical.
Scott enjoyed life and his interests were varied, including fishing, golfing, caring for his animals and country music. Ever the supportive alumni, he was an avid fan of all Ole Miss sports.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Renee Statham; parents, James and Betty Statham; daughter, Addie Brownlee and husband Jeremy; brother, Mark Statham and wife Gayle; granddaughter, Ella Beth Young; and nieces and nephews, Matt Statham and wife Tammy, Lara Statham, Ryan Parkerson, and Myles McCollough.
Visitation will be 11:00am-1:00pm, Monday, January 13, 2020, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl. Mass of Christian Burial services will follow at 1:00pm, with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
