

John William "Jake" Richardson, a born politician, was born in Smith County, MS in the White Oak Community on June 16, 1933. Mr. Richardson passed away at 2pm, June 26, 2015, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.
Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm Monday, June 29, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl with funeral services at 1pm. A private burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Jake was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl where he joined in 2007. He had been a longtime member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Jackson where he served as deacon. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Mason and Shriner. He was a also a member of the Rankin County Breakfast Club for politicians, has beens and wantabees. Jake served 30 years with Hinds County, first as County Patrol, Justice of the Peace, Tax Collector and Assessor and retired as Tax Collector. After his retirement he enjoyed fishing and having coffee with friends. Jake never met a stranger and he loved everyone and was liked by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Beulah Martin Richardson; brothers, Hilton and Robert Richardson; and sister, Louise Woodward.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Nobles Richardson of 14 years; sons, Bill Richardson and Rickey Richardson (Dianne); daughter, Freda Parker (Murray); granddaughter, Angela Parker Murray (Ronnie); great granddaughter, Ella Rose Murray; stepdaughter, Dovonia Ainsworth Richey (David) and grandson, Paul David Richey; and a host of nieces, nephews and church family.
