Joyce believed in giving her best to every endeavor she undertook and was committed to seeing things through. She took great pride in her work and approached every responsibility with dedication, care, and a desire to do things right. She dedicated more than 28 years of service to Southern Farm Bureau Insurance. Following her retirement, she continued her service to others as a volunteer chaplain at several area hospitals, offering comfort and compassion to those in need.
In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and vacations camping with her family. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took great delight in making her home festive and beautiful, preparing homemade Christmas candy and cookies to share with family and friends. She had a special love for children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
She and her late husband, Jerry, shared a generous spirit and a deep desire to help others. Throughout their years together, they opened their home on many occasions to individuals and families in need, offering not only shelter but also kindness, comfort, and a place to feel welcome. Their compassion for others was a beautiful reflection of the lives they lived and the love they shared.
In addition to her beloved husband of 71 years, Jerry Myers, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Iddo Mack Magee, and Nina Eaton Magee, granddaughter, Jennifer Riley Craddock; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Peggy Magee; and twin sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Gus Rowell.
She is survived by daughter, Kay Powell Hosey (James); sons, Victor Myers (Debbie), David Myers, Greg Myers, and Tim Myers (Ginene); 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
