Kenneth Earl Dennis, lovingly known as Kenny, was born on April 14, 1958 in Killeen, Texas. He was raised in a military family and spent parts of his childhood in Texas, Alaska, and South Carolina before settling in Pearl, MS in 1968. He started work early in life at the family business, a service station in Pearl, at the age of 12. After graduating from Pearl High School in 1976, he continued his education and earned multiple business certifications through Hinds Community College. He then helped expand the family business and ran “Dennis and McRee Auto Electric” in Pearl in which he earned a reputation for treating his customers like family.
He married the love of his life, Lynn Sistrunk Dennis of Pearl, in 1981, and became a father in 1982 and again in 1990. He finally added the prestigious title of “papaw” in 2013 with the birth of, Sydney, his one and only grandchild, to which he proudly proclaimed to have loved “more than all the stars in the sky.” He had an enduring love for the outdoors and classic automobiles that he passed to his sons.
With his contagious smile and infectious personality he could make friends anywhere. He would light up a room like no other, instantly becoming a party favorite on any occasion simply by being present. Kenny never met a stranger, or missed an opportunity to help someone. He was a humble and giving person; if he had it and you needed it, it was yours. Kenny was a man who never complained. He was never heard speaking unkindly about anyone. Affectionately known in the community by many as a living angel, he committed countless acts of kindness and good deeds that no one will ever know, having truly done them for the sake of helping others and never seeking any recognition and never telling anyone of his deeds. Known for his big heart, he was a loving son, husband, father, papaw, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, and the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He had an innate ability to come up with a joke for any situation at any time and could make you smile even when you did not want to. He had a never ending number of stories, which often ended with him and you crying from laughter. Once you became his friend he considered you his friend for life. He touched the lives of so many. His absence will be vastly felt by all. To know Kenny Dennis was to love him and to be loved by him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father Jack Dennis. He leaves behind his wife Lynn, two sons, Coby (Amy) Dennis of Brandon, Brad Dennis of Pearl, granddaughter Sydney Dennis.
