A come and go Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi.
He was born on April 5, 1950 to Troy Nordan and Hazel "Christine" Pell Nordan in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Lanny was certified in upholstery work and was also an automotive repair and paint technician. Aside from being an overall car enthusiast, his hobbies also included hunting, and Lanny was an avid fisherman. He genuinely enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours at hunting camp. In addition, Lanny was an excellent dancer. He was definitely a jokestor as well, known to always make everyone around him laugh by cracking jokes or pulling pranks. Lanny's generous heart not only sought out to share laughs, but he consistently found himself thinking of ways to give to others - even if Lanny was simply at the grocery store for himself, he'd often pick up other items with someone else in mind. Anyone that knew him, knew about his huge love for eating watermelon, no matter the time of year and his delicious signature shish kebabs that he made.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Troy and Christine Nordan; sister, Bobbie Jean Morgan; and brother, Robert Earl Case.
Lanny is survived by his daughters, Laina Van Buren (Errol) and Dacia Fortenberry (Todd); brother, Dennis Nordan; sister, Sheila Nordan; grandchildren, Emily Van Buren, Alyssa Van Buren, Madison Fortenberry, Matton Fortenberry, and Mollie Fortenberry; as well as a number of beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He will be so greatly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baldwinleepearl.com for the Nordan family.
