Larry Wendal Harris

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Friday, April 1, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson.

Larry was born Friday, May 21, 1943, in Florence, Alabama, a son of the late George Randal Harris and Lessie Mae Wilson Harris. He retired from Springleaf Financial Services after more than 20 years of service. Larry and his family were founding member of the Siwell Road Church of Christ in Jackson, where he faithfully attended services.

Larry was proud of his roots in North Mississippi, and remained close to his extended family in that area. His greatest joy in life was his role as a grandpa. He was devoted to his grandchildren from the moment each was born. Their interests were his interests, and he attended every school, church and sporting event he could.

Survivors include son, Jonathan Harris and wife Daphne; daughter, Stephanie Harris Shortt; and grandchildren, Makaila Harris, Mason Shortt and Beres Shortt.
