Louise E. Douglas

Born in Grandview, Arkansas, in 1924, Louise lived a remarkable life spanning more than a century. She witnessed tremendous changes in the world yet remained steadfast in the values that mattered most—family, kindness, hard work, and love. Her gentle spirit, quiet wisdom, and unwavering support touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.D. Douglas, who passed away 41 years ago. Though she deeply missed him, she continued to build a life centered on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, serving as the heart of her family for generations.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Walters and Peggy Allbritton; her sons-in-law, Gary Walters and Joe Allbritton; and her grandchildren: Daniel Walters (Stephanie), Jill Evans, Jacob Walters, Bill Allbritton (Kensy), Matt Allbritton (Sara Ellen), Amy Allbritton Copeland (Butch), and Kristen Walters, the widow of her late grandson, Doug Walters, who preceded her in death.

Louise was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride. Her love for her growing family knew no bounds, and she treasured every visit, celebration, and opportunity to be together.

A longtime member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church, Louise faithfully loved and served her church family for many years. She was also a devoted member of Providence Presbyterian Church. Her love for Christ was evident in the way she lived her life, and her faith remained a guiding light to all who knew her.

Those who knew Louise will remember her for her warm heart, quiet strength, and unmistakable personality. She had a wonderfully dry wit, a quick sense of humor, and was never afraid to tell it like it was. Her honesty was refreshing, her humor unforgettable, and her words were always genuine. Whether she was making everyone laugh with a perfectly timed remark or offering the truth with love, Louise had a way of leaving a lasting impression. Her family will forever cherish the laughter she brought, the wisdom she shared, and the unwavering love she gave so freely.

She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am to 11:00am, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with graveside services at 12:30pm at Lakewood South Cemetery.

While her family mourns her passing, they also celebrate a life well lived and take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved J.D. and other loved ones who went before her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
