

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Born in Ft. Collins, Colorado on July 31, 1920, she was raised in east Denver and graduated from East Denver High Scholl n 1939. She married her husband, the late Wyatt Byron “Barney” Chandler in 1940 and spent the early days of her marriage as a housewife, raising 5 children, always active in their activities and neighborhood organizations. After all children were in school, she went to work in the Denver Public School Lunchrooms and worked until retirement in 1985 as a lunchroom manager.
Upon retirement, Margaret and Barney became enthusiastic travelers. They purchased an RV and traveled the country visiting friends and family. She loved to cook and entertain and was the glue that kept the family together.
Survivors include daughters, Debra Chandler Stephens (Tom) and Denise Chandler Jeffress (Jerry); son, Dale Byron Chandler (Valerie); brother, Art Bliss; daughters-in-law, Dee and Jane Chandler; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Dennis and Dean Chandler.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral home in Pearl. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton, Colorado with interment to follow in the Olinger Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
