Mark was born on November 27, 1967, in New Orleans, LA to Mr. Milton Ray Haden and Mrs. Adalee Matheny Haden. He met his best friend and the love of his life, Ms. Gina Naef, in 1985 while attending college at Southwest MS Community College. In 2010, faith brought the two back together and for 16 years they were inseparable.
Mark was employed at Rick’s Pro Truck as a salesman for well over 20 years. In his spare time, he loved to cook, and most would say that his smoked BBQ brisket was the best around. If he was not cooking, he loved going to baseball and football games especially to see the LSU Tigers and the New Orlean Saints. He enjoyed golfing and fishing as well. He was a member of McLaurin Heights Methodist Church, Pearl, MS.
Mark was loved and cherished by his special cousins: Sue Goff, Florence, MS, Deborah Rose-Lovell, Brandon, MS, Sherrill D. Grimes, Pearl, MS. Special Aunts: Ms. Gertrude Haden, Vicksburg, MS (Ken, Mike); Aunt Elna Faye Haden Coit, Chunky, MS (Edwin, Lauren, Linda, Nancy) ; Uncle Glen Read Haden, Louin, MS (Marlyn, Donald); Uncle G.C. Downs, Bay Springs, MS (Jeff, Sidney). Cousins, Jolene McKinzy, Sidney Tally, Cynthia Speed all of Bay Springs, MS. and a host of other loved cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton Ray and Adalee Matheny Haden; grandparents, Samuel Oren and Faye Read Haden, Reverend and Mrs. Matheny, and sister, Millee Haden.
Left to cherish his memory are his life partner of 16 years, Gina Naef and her children that he considered to be his own; son, Zachary Naef (Whitney); daughter, Kayla Naef; grandson, Cooper Naef; granddaughter that is on the way, Kamaya Meeks; aunts, Mrs. Gertrude Haden and family, Mrs. Elna Faye Haden and family; uncles, G. C. Downs and family, Glen Read Haden and family; cousins, Mrs. Sue Goff (Duncan) and family, Mrs. Deborah R. Lovell (Rich), Mrs. Sherrill D. Grimes (Eddie), Jolene Mckinzy and family, Sidney Tally and family, Cynthia Speed and family, and a host of other beloved cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS. Per Mr. Haden’s wishes no other services will be held.
