Marvin J. Hillard

Marvin J. Hillard, owner of A One Septic Tank Service, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at St. Dominic Hospital. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00pm Friday, December 28th at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 29th at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Greenfield Methodist Church cemetery in Brandon.

Mr. Hillard was born in Curve, TN on March 1, 1926, to John Ernest Hillard and Della Humphrey Hillard. Mr. John Hillard and son, Marvin, began serving the public in 1938. In 1952 they moved the business to Delta Drive, Jackson, MS. Marvin often said his greatest enjoyment in life was meeting new customers and helping them solve their problems. His son, Buddy, and grandsons, Ernie Hillard and Mitchell Gill are continuing in the family business.

Mr. Hillard is survived by his wife, Peggy Bailey Hillard, and their two children, Vicky Hillard Gill (John) of

Clinton, MS and Buddy Marvin Hillard (Patsy Self Hillard) of Brandon, MS. He leaves one granddaughter, Michelle Gill, Stuttgart, Germany and six grandsons, Ernie Hillard of Brandon, B.C. “Tray” Read (Elizabeth Rosenthal Read) of Austin, TX, Aubrey Gill of Valdosta, GA, Matthew Hillard of Brandon, Mitchell Gill of Clinton, MS and Bailey Gill, Ft. Jackson, SC and three great-grandsons, Jacob, Nathan, and Caleb Read of Austin, TX.
