Mary "Tincy" Leach Rhodes

Visitation is 5-8pm Friday, July 29, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:30pm Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Antioch Baptist Church in Pearl with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday 1:00-2:30pm.

She was born Thursday, June 18, 1931 in Newton County, a daughter of the late Otis Leach and Merle Pettey Leach. Several weeks premature, her small size led to her life-long nickname, "Tincy".

Miss Tincy was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Wood’s Family Shoes when the store closed in 2002 after 40 years of service. Her hobbies included church activities, quilting, crossword puzzles and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Rhodes; brother, Charlie Leach; 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Ming and Vicki Morgan (Ron) all of Pearl; grandchildren, R.J. Morgan of Starkville, Amanda Bagwell (Josh) of Southhaven, and Georgette Bishop of Magee; great-granddaughter, Abigale Bagwell, due to arrive in August; sister, Jean Jones (Jim) of Union; brothers, Jim Leach (Gloria) of McCool, and Pettey Leach (Carol) of Sebastopol; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins that she cherished.

Miss Tincy was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
