Mary H. Watkins

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Sunday, February 15, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

She was born Tuesday, april 29, 1930 in Oberlin, Louisiana, a daughter of the late General Phate Hammond and Donie Ogburn Hammond. Mrs. Watkins was a devoted member of Faith Family Church in Pearl. She retired as a switchboard operator for AT&T after 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Watkins, Sr. and son, Roy A. Watkins.

Survivors include sons, James A. Watkins, Jr. of Inglewood, FL, Roger D. Watkins, Sr. (Margaret) of Richland, Dennis A. Watkins (Anita) of Tampa, FL, and Bob Watkins of Lexington, KY; daughters, Joyce Palmer of Pearl and Shirley A. Tramell (John) of Raymond; brother, Bo Hammond (Theresa) of Tampa, FL; sister, Janice McCartney (Larry) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Jammie Faircloth (Brian) of Riverview, FL, Penny Pitts (Darrell) of Pearl, Roger D. Watkins, Jr. of Richland, Bryan Watkins (Misty) of Trussville, AL, Jennifer Dick (Kyle) of Lexington, KY, Joni Askew (B.J.) of Byram, Larry Wayne Palmer, Jr. of Richland, Stephanie Watkins of Tampa, FL, Brittany Watkins of Madison and Michael Watkins of Tampa, FL; and 19 great-grandchildren.
