Michael was born May 31, 1956, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Billy R. and Eddie Westberry Pippin.
Michael had a lengthy career with the Flowood Fire Department, retiring with 31 years of service. He was a volunteer fireman before the organization of the city fire dept and one of the first fireman hired by the city where he served in many positions.
In his free time, he enjoyed cleaning his car, working in his yard, riding his motorcycles, watching westerns, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty Pippin; children, Cory Pippin (Lindsey), Lacy Hall (Christian), Buddy Hurtt, and Dustin Hurtt (Jessica); grandchildren, Michael Hayes Pippin, Alice Grace Pippin, Ellis Hall, Madelyn Hurtt, Kylan Hurtt, and Kruze Hurtt; great-grandchild, Tatum Covey; sisters, Juanice Hickman, and Angela Schoeck.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Rev. Tim Pace will officiate; pallbearers are Jon Swain, Regie Pennington, Maurice Moore, Ronnie Bagwell, Sr., Ellis Varner, and Cory Pippin.
