Ned Clayton Daniel

Ned Daniel passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 on his beloved farm in Bolton. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 3, at 10:00 AM at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Ned was born on August 10, 1935 in Luckney, Mississippi. He graduated from Central High School in 1953 then entered the National Guard. Throughout his career he worked for Gilchrist Tractor Company, W. C. Runyon & Company and Puckett Machinery. He later joined the family business, Davis Auto Repair, until his retirement. Ned enjoyed being outdoors on the farm working in his “famous garden”, tending to the chickens and horses and bass fishing. Ned loved sharing the “fruits of his labor” with all of his friends, neighbors and family. Most of all Ned cherished his grandchildren, Ian and Meredith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Long Daniel. He is survived by daughter, Lisa Daniel McAdams; her husband Mahlon and their son, Ian, of Madison; Kim Daniel Irby; her husband Jim and daughter, Meredith Massey of Jackson; father-in-law, Murphy Davis of Bolton; and sister Bettye Hughes in Watertown, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to the Bolton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 297, Bolton, MS 39041 or the The MIND Center, UMMC, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.
