Phillip was born July 18, 1965, in Jackson, the son of the late Oscar Wilson Cook and Carolyn Herron Cook Childs.
A hard-working and self-reliant individual, Phillip worked for several years in construction, specializing in dirt work. Even in his spare time you could always find him tinkering with a project. A true outdoorsman he loved to hunt and enjoyed traveling to Texas for hunting expeditions. Phillip had a passion for motorcycles, especially his Harley. He reveled in riding with his biker buddies and the many trips to Sturgis he made. There’s a saying that goes, “Some will walk through the pearly gates and some will ride”. No doubt, on Sunday Cookie rode through those gates.
Phillip truly “never met a stranger”. Loyalty was important to him, and once you had Phillip for a friend, you had a friend for life.
Phillip always put his family first and he worked hard to instill his values of integrity and honor in his children. He wanted to be the best father and provider he could be, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, even if it meant taking his daughter shopping! That true love for life and living it to the fullest will be the lasting legacy Phillip leaves to his family.
Survivors include his spouse, Sandra; sons, Hunter Cook and Haynes Cook; daughters, Anna Myers and husband Marcus, Haley Cook and Jordan Harris; sister, Anita Moak; and grandchildren, Landen, Lake, Cooper and Emma Grace.
