The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 12:30pm Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, followed by a funeral service at 12:30pm that same day in the funeral home chapel with burial afterward at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Born January 11, 1936, in Meridian, Mississippi, to the late James Milton Ray and Margaret Jackson Ray, Roland proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force as a machinist. After being discharged, Roland lived several years in Nebraska and then returned to Mississippi before retiring from Vickers, Inc. His favorite times were playing guitar and singing for retirement homes and fishing with family and friends. Roland was an active member of Skyway Hills Baptist Church in Pearl and loved and served his church.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death are sisters, Melba Bell and Dorothy Moore, daughter, Ann House, and grandson William Mishler.
Continuing to carry on his legacy is his loving wife of 30 years, Janice Morrow Ray; children, Debra Ray of Ralph, AL, Billy Ray (Nicole) Plattsmouth, NE, and Lori Ray of Elkhorn, NE. Grandchildren, Mandy House, Sandy Fowler, Stanley House, Jr., Kylie Ray, Draven Ray, Jackson Ray, Lorena Mishler. And 14 great-grandchildren and many other beloved extended family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Pallbearers will be Draven Ray, Jackson Ray, Jim Moore, Josh Lee, Thomas Gilmore, Larry Welborn, Evan Beasley and Luke Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Avis Moore, JD Cannon, Ray Preuett, Rush Neal, Rev Billie and Jean Huffmaster, Marilyn Welborn, and Will & Amanda Carver.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Just The Crumbs Disaster Relief of Sumrall, MS.
