Mike was born in Jackson on November 13, 1959 to Hilde Leipold and John B. Cook. He attended Pearl High School. After high school, Mike played semi-professional baseball with the Jackson Cubs. In his later years, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball. He worked as a route delivery driver for many years and enjoyed photography.
Mike is survived by his mother, Hilde Cook; brothers, Thomas Cook, David Cook, and Donald Cook, as well as his sister, Glenda Swilley. He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Cook.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 pm at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society in Mike’s memory.
