Ruby was born in Hollis, OK, on February 17, 1937, to Mr. Walter S. Patterson and Mrs. LuLu Maude Bradshaw Patterson. On September 24, 1957, in Wichita County, Texas, she married her best friend and soulmate Mr. Francis Earl Holland. They were happily married and were each other’s best friends for 65 years until his passing in September 2022.
Mrs. Holland was known around town as the “pie lady” baking her pies and taking them to friends and family to enjoy. She was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church now known as Brandon First Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching birds come to her feeders in her yard but especially enjoyed watching cardinals come by for a visit. She would tell family and friends that they were special to her.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mr. Francis Earl Holland; parents, Mr. Walter S. Patterson and Mrs. LuLu Maude Bradshaw Patterson; brothers, Wayne Patterson and Mahoma Mann Patterson; sisters, Gwendolyn Patterson Harvey and Fern A Patterson McCormack.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Holland Bowness (Bill); sons, Robert Victor Holland (Reba), Patrick Bradshaw Holland (Debbie), and Joseph Francis Holland; grandchildren, Jonathan Holland (Britney), Monica Bane (Trae), and Camille Parker (Reggie); great grandchildren, Jameson Bane, Samuel Bane, Cooper Bane, Everett Bane, and Willow Grace Parker.
She also leaves behind her caregivers, Jacquie, Pauline, Dianna, Shellye, Karen, and Mary that loved her and took care of her in her home along with family in her last days. Her family is very grateful for these wonderful ladies and her friends from Visiting Angels.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 25, 2025, from 9:00am until 10:00am at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS with a service to follow. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
