Karen and Don, I am truly sorry to hear about your son. This is terrible and my heart hurts for you and your family. I just wanted to let you both know that you are in my heart and in my prayers. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel and I know your hearts are broken. May your hearts heal and become stronger. I know we don't get to see each other much and really just keep up on Facebook, but if you guys need anything, please do not hesitate to call on me and I will do everything I can to do it for you. I know I cannot bring him back but I can and will pray for you and your family. May God put his loving arms around you today and for the days ahead. Love you guys,

When Russell and I were kids, we caught the woods on fire behind the sandpits where we rode our bikes. We couldn’t have been 10 or 11, which meant we were naive enough to return to the scene while the firemen fought the blaze. It was kind of a big deal, albeit an accident. I remember Russell as always being a bit of a daredevil, although we parted ways after high school. Rest in peace, Brother.
