Born on August 31, 1928, in Waco, Texas, Ruth moved to Mississippi as a young woman and made it her lifelong home. She was a woman of strength, determination, and deep faith, who dedicated her life to her family, her work, and her community.
Ruth is survived by her children, Charlene Burrage (Walter) and Bruce Jenkins; her grandchildren, Mary Ann Roper (Dewight), Melanie Greer, Kenneth Jenkins (Sheila) and Bruce Jr. Jenkins (Lauren) ; her great-grandchildren, Brennan Williams (Emileigh), Corban Bradford (Aidan), Berkley Nutt (Jamal) Justin Roper (Samantha), and Jason Roper (Ashley) ; and her great-great-grandchildren Kylar Nutt, Eleanor Williams, Wrenley Johnson, Theodore Williams, Camen Bradford, Adalynn Roper, JD Roper, and John Thomas Roper
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy L. Roberts; her sons, Johnny Jenkins and Roger Jenkins; and her twin brother, Reuben Stone.
Ruth worked tirelessly throughout her life, remaining active in business until the age of 96. She was a successful entrepreneur who built and managed several businesses over the years. Beyond her career, she was a faithful member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, where her devotion and generosity were well known. She loved to travel, explore new places, and share those experiences with her family.
Above all, Ruth cherished her family and took great pride in the generations that followed her. She will be remembered as a strong, loving, and inspiring woman whose influence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi on Sunday, October 19th at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
