She was born on July 12, 1930 in St. Joseph, Louisiana to the late Willie Rex Barron and Lillie Mae Vaughn. Mrs. Sadie loved God and was very active in Church. She taught Sunday School class and was generous just like Jesus. She loved sewing and crocheting and just about every family member owns a quilt handmade by her. Mrs. Sadie also showed her love by preparing delicious things to eat, and family note that her banana pudding, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, and turnip greens with cornbread were some of her signature dishes. Family was a very important part of her life, always spending every holiday together. She also never failed to make sure she sent a birthday card to each of her loved ones year after year. In her free time, she could be found bird watching. She especially adored hummingbirds. Mrs. Sadie also had a reputation for keeping an immaculate yard with beautiful flowers. She found pride in working the land and getting rare blooms that most could never get to sprout.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis Marion Polk, Sr. and James Edward Harrell and her son, James "Jim" Ray Polk.
She is survived by her sons, Francis "Frank" Marion Polk, Jr and David L. Polk; sisters, Audrey Marie Hutchinson and Joyce Ann Fromm; brother, Jerry W. Barron; and many beloved in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sadie will be deeply missed.
