Memorial services are 11:00am Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Flowood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Monday, February 3, 1930 in Laurel, Mississippi, a son of the late Sam Richard Lewis, Sr. and Willie Mae Corkern Lewis. He was a member of Flowood Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. A graduate of Mississippi State, he worked for many years as a chemical engineer. He and his wife, Billie, owned and operated Lewis Ace Hardware in South Jackson, 1976 - 1998.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Billie Lewis, he is survived by sons, Kevin Lewis and wife Nancy, Ben Lewis and wife Eileen, and Richard Lewis; daughter, Becky Causey and husband Shane; brother, Roger Lewis; and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Flowood Baptist Church Building Fund.
