She was born on May 17, 1940 in Vardaman, Mississippi to the late Carris Alexander Barker and James A. Barker. She was a 1958 graduate of Forest Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi. She married H. George Blalock on November 13, 1958 in Jackson.
She recently retired from PMO Pharmacy as a bookkeeper and was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. She loved her family and spending time with family and friends. Her generosity to others and game nights consisting of cards, dominoes, and scrabble will be memories of her that they hold fondly in their heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Mitchell and brother, David Barker.
She is survived by her husband, George Blalock; daughter, Sandye Blalock; son, Gary Blalock; brother, James Lee (Susie) Barker; brother-in-law Vernell Mitchell; sister-in-laws, Libby Nygren, Elsie Blake, and Elmese Blalock; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and those who loved her dearly.
The family will have a private visitation at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Sarah are invited to the graveside service taking place at 2:00pm Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, located at 4111 Highway 80 East, Pearl, Mississippi 39208 to reminisce, grieve, and support one another during this difficult time.
Mrs. Blalock will be greatly missed by many.
