The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will follow afterwards at 12:00pm that same day in the funeral home chapel. The family will hold a private burial of her ashes to rejoin her with the love of her life, John William Long, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Union, Mississippi.
She was born on February 16, 1941 in Union Mississippi to the late Bishop Hardin and Audie Author Hardin. Sherry was a faithful member of Saint Mark's United Methodist Church in Brandon. A very talented graphic artist, she was self taught and created a number of wonderful illustrations. In her free time, she loved to travel. Sherry enjoyed seeing the world and visiting various countries. Her other passion was square dancing, which she absolutely adored. Sherry was also a very talented cook, and she was known for her homemade yeast rolls.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Hardin.
Sherry is survived by her son, Max Long; daughter, Lorie Long; brothers, Don Hardin, Larry Hardin, Wayne Hardin; sister, Bobbie Thrash; and 25 nieces and nephews.
