Sherry was born January 23, 1938, in Gadsden, Alabama, a daughter of the late Ralph Homer Watts and Ethel Virginia Humphries Watts.
A gifted pianist and musician, Sherry began playing the piano for White Springs Baptist Church in Rainbow City, Alabama, at the age of 13, and continued to serve as pianist for several churches throughout Alabama and Mississippi. Sherry also had a beautiful alto voice and was active with the Sweet Adelines for many years. She and her late husband, Glynn, were often asked to sing at churches and their most requested hymn was “Sweet Beulah Land”.
Sherry was a well-known and highly respected histologist, and enjoyed a lengthy career working in labs in Mississippi and Alabama.
In her free time Sherry enjoyed cheering on her beloved Alabama football team.
Although her music ministry and medical work were of utmost importance to Sherry, her favorite times were spent simply with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and her family was the true light of her life.
She is survived by her son, Don Snead and wife Nina; brothers, Douglas Watts and Linda Buzbee, and Charlie Watts and wife Phyllis; granddaughter, Crimson Snead De and husband Abhishek; and 5 great-grandchildren.
