

Susan Marie Knotts, 68, passed from this life Saturday, February 10, 2018, while visiting her daughter in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the blessed birth of her first grandchild. Although heartbroken at her passing, Susan’s family gratefully and with thanksgiving praises our Holy Savior for receiving her into Heaven during the happiest time of her life.
Susan was born July 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late James Albert McCluskey and Rosemarie Zendler McCluskey.
Susan retired from the Mississippi State Hospital where she served as a secretary. She was a faithful member of Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brandon. A gifted musician and vocalist, Susan enjoyed playing guitar and singing specials with her daughter for her church family.
Susan was most comfortable on the farm she shared with her husband, and often worked side-by-side with him in their yard. Susan was proud of her home and worked to keep it neat and tidy, decorating with the many Native American pieces she collected. A true animal lover, she delighted in caring for her horse, bird, dogs, and cats.
Additional hobbies Susan enjoyed included adding to her turquoise Native American jewelry collection.
Susan is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gary Richard Knotts; son, Andrew James Laverty; daughter, Tracy Marie Ayars and husband Sam; son, Richard Nathan Knotts; daughter, Sheila Knotts Cantrell; and grandchildren, Sydney Marie Ayars, Lauren “Gabby” Cantrell, Christian Cantrell, Nathan Knotts, Christopher Knotts, and Anthony “Tony” Knotts.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Friday, February 16, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Saturday, February 17, 2018,in the funeral home chapel with interment in Parkway Memorial Cemetery, Ridgeland.
