I look at my own children and grandchildren with such awe and love I don’t know if I could geniunely feel the same way for someone else’s children or grandchildren. It takes a very special person that has so much excess love they can feel this way for people.

Granny Sue is one of those special people. She has always made me feel loved and cared for when I was with her. She always made me feel welcomed no matter what. To her, I was her grandson and this made my heart swell with pride.

She was not only a role model to me but my daughters. I thank God he gave my children the opportunity to look up to someone of Granny’s caliber. She was the kindest, most selfless, loving and yes, sometimes hard headest person I’ve known. I will miss her dearly.

Aunt Sue, I know that your children and grandchildren will miss you terribly. But here is another soul that will miss you. To think that I will never pick up the phone and hear that sweet voice again. I know that life was not always easy but you went through life with grace and dignity. Always a smile and so happy to see your loved ones and friends. You would stand for hours and cook and prepare for those family reunions, with so much love in every stroke. Every day with you was a celebration! I sent a text to my daughter, Marcy, on Saturday morning to tell her you were gone. She wrote back, " She was an amazing person, you were lucky to have known her, not just you...Anyone, including me! She always made you smile just being around her." Aunt Sue, an era in my life is over. You are the end of the generation that was a part of my mother and daddy, You were not just my daddy's sister, you were my mom's best friend. So sorry I can't be there today with all of you but I am in spirit. Love to all.
