T.J. was born in Jackson, Mississippi to Jimmie and Merle Ingram. She was a nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was an avid believer of God and was part of the Baptist faith.
T.J. loved her job and the people she worked with, but her life was devoted to the love and care of her children and grandchildren. She was always willing to go out of her way to ensure that those she cared for were taken care of. She loved nothing more than to see her grandchildren smile and to play with them. She was the best "Nana" to all three of her grandchildren and each one of them loved her tremendously.
To know TJ was to know love, affection, and devotion. She would do anything for anyone that asked of her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family and will be missed greatly by those she left behind.
Tawanda McCarty is survived by her sons, Gerald (Robyn) McCarty and Alex McCarty; grandchildren, Mason Heath McCarty, Grayson Luke McCarty, and Cooper Hayes McCarty; sister, Yama (Bobby) McCarty; and brother, Kevin (Timony) Ingram.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Merle Ingram and her sister, Sherry Ingram.
The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Sharon Cemetery in Magee. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 there.
