Tad was born on August 2, 1962, in Little Rock, Arkansas, one of three children born to Thomas Andrew Dobbins, Sr. and Linda Lou Albright Dobbins. In 1977, the family moved to Beaumont, Texas, where Tad developed a love for fishing that remained with him throughout his life. He later moved to Mississippi in 1990, where he spent much of his career working as a mechanic.
Tad enjoyed fishing, playing pool, golfing, and spending time on his computer. Whether on the water, on the golf course, or enjoying a game, he found happiness in life's simple pleasures.
His daughters' fondest memories of their dad are of growing up on the Reservoir. They remember fishing trips, days spent at the sand bars, tubing, and meeting their grandfather aboard his sailboat. They also remember the times he took them horseback riding. While Danielle developed a lifelong love of horses, Tad made sure she had opportunities to ride through friends and acquaintances he knew, encouraging an interest that stayed with her throughout her life. Those weekends created memories that have lasted a lifetime and remain some of the moments they cherish most.
Tad's passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving a deep loss in the hearts of his family and friends. While they were not prepared to say goodbye, they take comfort in the memories they shared and the love that remains.
Tad is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Thomas Andrew Dobbins, Sr.
Tad is survived by his mother, Linda Dobbins; his sisters, Toni Dobbins and Tracy Dobbins; his daughters and sons-in-law, Danielle Skeen (Chris); Shannon Boyte (Chris) and his grandchildren, Ryker Boyte, Ryder Boyte, Amara Skeen, and Summer Skeen.
Celebration of Life Services will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.
