Thomas Guy Edwards Sr.

Thomas “Tom” Guy Edwards, Sr., 72, of Florence, Mississippi, passed away on September 16, 2026. Tom grew up in Topeka, Kansas, but spent many years in Phoenix, Arizona, Oregon, and South Carolina before life brought him to Mississippi for retirement.

Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life, Laura Edwards, his wife of 27 years. Together, Tom and Laura built a life filled with love, family, and memories. Their love was an important part of who he was, and those who knew him can take comfort in knowing they are together once again.

He leaves behind his son, Thomas Guy Edwards, Jr. (Brittani Dennis), and his daughter, Jessica Reinsch (Joshua Reinsch). He was a proud and loving grandfather who greatly cherished his grandchildren, Thomas, 9; Keller, 5; Arden, 3; and Maggie, 8. Being their grandfather brought him tremendous joy.

Tom was well known for his sense of humor and his ability to deliver a good “dad joke”—whether anyone was ready for it or not. He also took great pleasure in finding just the right moment to scare an unsuspecting family member, usually when they least expected it. Those moments, followed by laughter, became part of the memories that made time with Tom so special.

He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially fishing, kayaking, and an occasional trip to the casino. He also had a tremendous soft spot for his beloved dogs, Rocky and Rose, who were thoroughly spoiled and very much part of his family.

More than anything, Tom brought joy and laughter into the lives of the people who loved him. His jokes, his playful spirit, and the countless little moments that made him uniquely Tom will be deeply missed.

His family will miss him every day, but the laughter, stories, and memories he gave them will remain with them always.
