Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
Tobe was born July 11, 1951, in Meridian. Most of his youth was spent in Forest where his family owned a grocery and rental properties. His family then moved to Brandon when Tobe was in the tenth grade.
In 1969 Tobe married the love of his life, Trudy Mosely. They settled in Pearl where they raised their family and Tobe joined Truitt Memorial Baptist Church.
In 1973 Tobe became the first Pearl Police Department Patrolman. He was the Juvenile Officer for many years and worked to develop programs for schools that taught children safety and trust in law enforcement. He was affectionately known by his original character, “Officer Friendly”. His career in law enforcement spanned more than 35 years and he received multiple commendations. Following his retirement he served with the Mississippi Capitol Police.
In his personal life Tobe’s family was top priority. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and recently became a great-grandfather.
Tobe was preceded in death by his parents, Tobe H. Ivy and Rachel Tyner Ivy; and father-in-law, Tommy Moseley.
Survivors include wife Trudy Moseley Ivy; sons, Ty Ivy (Jenni), and Jared Ivy; granddaughters, Rose and Audrey Ivy; great-granddaughter, Athena Ivy; brother, Roger Ivy (Theresa); sister, Ann McAlpin (Tully), mother-in-law, Elthabye Moseley; brother-in-law, Herb Moseley (Vicki); and nieces, Windi Barnes, Sunie Purvis, Misty Williams, Shelli Pitts, Shanna Batson, and Rachel Ivy.
