T.W. came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was a member of Seminary Baptist Church during his childhood and early adult life. He was a longtime member of Park Place Baptist Church at the time of his death.
T.W. graduated from Seminary High School and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had a rewarding career with Western Electric and AT&T for forty years. He worked in many states with his job and later, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. in his retirement years. After moving from his home to assisted living in early 2023, he continued to take great pleasure in following the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles and the Atlanta Braves. He always loved Mickey Mouse.
T.W. is preceded in death by his wives, Doris Mooney and Catherine Mooney; one brother, Martin Mooney; and one sister , Marie Veazey.
He is survived by one sister, Gertrude Davis and one sister in law, Dimple Mooney; two step daughters and two step granddaughters. T.W. is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Chateau Pines Assisted Living for the wonderful care and love T.W. was given there.
T.W. had many friends and was known for being optimistic and fun with a great sense of humor. He is remembered as a humble and cheerful follower of his loving and faithful Lord.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Dr. Keith Grubbs of Park Place Baptist Church will officiate.
