Cody was born November 7, 1988, in Jackson, Mississippi, a son of the late Christopher Barr and Ann Elaine Brown Barr. Cody was employed with Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Pearl.
Since childhood Cody was a unique individual. Often described as “wild”, his distinct personality was misunderstood by some, admired by many, and appreciated by all who truly knew him. Poetic and artistic, his interests varied greatly. He had a genuine love for music, nature, and art, including Anime. His multiple tattoos and hard-core looks hid an intelligent, thoughtful mind and soul.
Cody enjoyed people. His outgoing nature easily earned him allies, and he was most happy simply spending time with his family and lifelong friends. His love for others knew no boundaries, but that love reached a depth even Cody never imagined with the birth of his precious son.
Cody’s enthusiasm for life and adventurous spirit will live on in those he loved, and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Betty Barr, and nephew, Brayden Barr.
Survivors include his brother, Justin Barr; son, Remington Barr, and Remington’s mother, Rali Halford; grandmother, Kathleen McMahon Brown; aunt, Laurie Molesini; uncle Jason Barr (Delaine); and cousins, Joseph Wall, Abby Wall, Maggie Wall, Sydney Barr, and Kendra Barr.
