William S. Bass

William S. Bass (87) of Pearl, MS passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018. “Bill” was born in Utica, MS on September 15, 1931. He attended Brandon High School. Bill was a Korean War Veteran with the U.S. Air Force and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pearl.

He was an engineer with McCarty Holman – Jitney Jungle Stores for 47 years retiring in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Nascar racing.

Bill is survived by wife of 26 years, Shirley E. Bass, son William Bass, Jr., (Melissa), son Timothy Bass (Pam), daughter Bonnie Smith (Leon), and son Barry Jacobs (Angela). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Velma and William Bass, sister Dorothy Lackey, sister Virginia Melvin, brother Thomas Bass.

Visitation will be held at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl on Friday, November 16 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
