William Richard Buie, Jr. went by many names, Buie, Ricky, Bubba, Uncle, but the one he loved best was Dad. He came into this world on July 7, 1980, and left it on May 20, 2025, at the age of 44 to join his beloved friends Robby Grant and Christopher Bailey. His life may have been short, but he lived it big, making friends wherever he went. Ricky was a fierce friend and would drop everything whenever he was needed. In 1998, he graduated from Pearl High School and went on to pursue a career as an electrician, ultimately becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician. He was proud to work in the family business as a Foreman at Buie Electric Service where he loved teaching his crew. He had the ability to see the potential in others and would push his guys to be the best he knew they could be.
Those who knew him well knew that he loved cars and was never happier than when he was working on a car with Robby Grant or riding for hours to pick up a car with Kevin Hall. His desire to learn led him to take a break from his electrical career to attend Wyotech University in Wyoming. He loved doing rebuilds and would do the body work, interior, and paint. He especially loved lowering trucks and cars and attending car club meetings.
Nothing could stand in comparison to Ricky’s love for his family, friends, and dogs (especially Gunnthor). He enjoyed cooking for those he loved, who thought he missed his calling in life and should have been a professional chef. Ricky had the biggest, most giving heart of anyone around the South and could never say no to his sons. He often would buy their favorite Pop character just to brighten their day or take Grayson fishing in the heat of the summer.
Ricky leaves behind his wife, Brandi; sons Brendan and Grayson; Father Rick Buie (Sheila); Mother Debra Gould; and siblings Ashley, T.J. (Kim), and Lindsey; Buddy and Linda Nash (Father and mother-in-law); Pete Hynum and Carrie Nash Hynum (Brother and sister-in-law); Ray and Heather Therrell (Brother and sister-in-law). Along with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Ricky is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Richard W. Buie, Carlene and Al Campbell, and Gerald and Jean Wilson as well as Uncle Bob Buie, and Stepfather Jerry Gould.
Visitation will be held 10:00am until 2:00pm, Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
Buie will be forever missed by the many who loved him.
