William Joseph Hawkins

The family will hold a private service.

He was born on December 2, 1938 in Smithfield, West Virginia to the late John W. Hawkins and Mayme Pearl Talkington Hawkins. He enjoyed a lengthy career as an electrician all across the country, including with Siemens Allis Company. William was also a proud member of College Drive Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pearl. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to readings of the Bible on the computer and playing games on the computer. Otherwise, William was outdoors either riding the lawnmower or enjoying some woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Hawkins, 2 older brothers, and 4 older sisters.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lida Hawkins; children, David Paul Hawkins, William Edward Hawkins, Valerie Jean Hawkins Hopson, and Cindy Jo Hawkins Weaver; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
