He was born October 31, 1933, in Claiborne County, Mississippi, a son of the late Delma Lois Jordan and Minnie Lee Hynum Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. During his primary career he constructed homes with his business, William Jordan Builder. He also owned and operated Jordan Produce and farmed sweet potatoes for several years.
He loved refurbishing tractors and he had many- LOTS! HE also loved his dogs, chickens, guineas, and rabbits, and he cared for them up until the day he went into the hospital.
Mr. Jordan loved to go. He was always up for a trip to Wal Mart or the feed store or anywhere, just to go.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tisch Marie Peacock.
Survivors include son, William E. Jordan, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Jordan Calitine (Frank), and Francis Jordan Parker; brother, Luther Herbert Jordan; sister, Joyce Woods; grandchildren, William E. Jordan, III, Jessie Neely, Jordan Marie Parker, William Kyle Parker, and Stephanie Allison Parker; and great-grandchildren, Jewel Neely, Kinley Holland, James Hulsey, Lila Hulsey, Marley Parker, Kyleigh Parker, and Connor Coulter.
Funeral services were held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Interment followed in Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Florence.
