A WWII veteran, Mr. White served as a pilot with the U.S. Marine Corp from 1943 to 1946. He retired after 33 years of faithful service with South Central Bell, and owned and operated Tiny’s Liquor Store in Jackson for several years.
Mr. White loved to work in his yard, and his favorite hobby was competing for Pearl’s “Yard of the Month” Award, which he won several times over the years. He was a long time member of the Moose Lodge, and had an avid interest in car restoration and re-sale.
As a survivor of the Depression, Mr. White had a true sense of value for family and community. Outgoing and humorous, he was the epitome of a “Southern Gentleman”. Always willing to lend a helping hand, his kindness and generosity extended to anyone in need. And his love for his family was always central in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Shores White, and daughter, Janie Carol Norton.
Survivors include daughter, Teresa Bramlette; grandchildren, Thomas James Norton, II, Chad Norton, Justin Palmer and Ty Palmer; and 7 great-grandchildren.
