Willie was born November 25, 1931, in Jones County, a son of the late Robert Ford Beeson and Mary Louise Bowman Beeson. He was a faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church and a member of John P. Byrd Lodge No. 629 F&AM in Pearl. Willie was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.
Willie enjoyed a lengthy career with Knox Glass/Glass Container. Following his retirement he became a cattleman and avid gardener.
Willie had a true servant’s heart, always eager to help others or give to anyone he knew in need. Whether sharing vegetables from his garden, giving someone a “leg up” to start their own business, or simply sharing his wealth of knowledge about our community, Willie gave to others willingly and generously. His legacy of service to others will not soon be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Beeson Presley, and brother, Joe M. Beeson.
Survivors include sisters, Sue Beeson Cahoon and Betty Beeson Morgan; brother-in-law, Joe H. Morgan; sister-in-law, Margaret Murray Beeson; his beloved nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; extended family, Gina and Glen George and children; and many dear friends whose lives he touched.
