Visitation will be 11:00am until 1:00pm, Friday, June 12, 2020, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Wilma was born on March 24, 1937, in Pocahontas, a daughter of the late William and Hazel Wade.
Wilma enjoyed making quilts, every stitch done by hand, and sharing them with her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Robinhood Baptist Church in Brandon, and delighted in studying God’s word and attending church services until her health would not allow her to do so.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Bondy Thornton, on May 26, 2020; daughter, Tammy Glyn Thornton “Baby Sue” Bynum; great-granddaughter, Ella Dean Thompson; and brother, Sonny Wade.
Survivors include son, Ritchie Martin and wife Susan; step-son, Larry Jones and wife Tera; granddaughter, Hannah Martin (Tyrone Davis); grandsons, Cory Jones, Jody Jones, Russell Thompson, Justin Thompson, and Austin Bynum; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Jones; great-grandsons, Beau Thompson, Trevor Ashmore, and Avery Ashmore; brother, Billy Wade; as well as many friends, extended family, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Wilma treasured her time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
