

Devoted grandmother and mother, Zofia “Sophie" Sandifer, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18th at her home in Sevierville, TN. While her native home was Warsaw, Poland, she was also a resident of Paris, France; Melbourne, Australia; Jackson and Harrisville, MS before settling in Tennessee with her husband.
During WWII, Zofia was a member of the Polish Resistance that saved many lives during this war. Born on March 4, 1925 to the late Bronislav and Francesca Gut, and while very proud of her Polish heritage, her life was dedicated to God and her family. She touched many lives and now her life is celebrated by all her family and many friends from all over the world.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Thomas Sandifer; her children George Sandifer, Jerry Sandifer, Anita Baggett, Roy Sandifer; and her grandchildren include Steven, Robbie, Michelle, Natalie, Marla, Jeri-Lynn, Thomas, Katherine, Jeremy, Bethany, Christopher, and Brandon. She also leaves behind a son-in-law, daughter-in-laws, and great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21st, from 5-7 pm. The funeral services will be held at Harrisville Baptist Church on Sunday, September 22nd, with viewing from 1-2 pm and services at 2 pm.
