Alista Dottie Maxwell

Alista Dottie Maxwell, born on April 2, 1932, in Panama, passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 93. Alista was a resident of Pearland, Texas, and was known for her dedication and compassion in her career in the medical field in patient care.

Alista was married to Vernon James Maxwell for many years (Vernon passed). She is survived by her daughters, Donna Johns (Carlos Johns), Edna Cooper (Carlos Cooper), Inez Burrowes (Roberto Burrowes), Dalis Maxwell and son Rogelio Maxwell (Evelyn Maxwell). She is also survived her brother, Granville Eversley and her sisters, Jean Yard and Pancymay Scroggins. Alista was predeceased by her sisters, Joy and Albertina, her brother, Loyd, and her parents, James Evans Reece and Ursula Waterman Reece. She leaves behind a loving family, including nieces and nephews and also including 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Alista was a part of the Stars of Ruth Lodge #26.

A visitation will be held on October 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Forest Park South Funeral Home in the Celestial Tides Chapel, located at 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, Texas, 77584. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same location. A reception will follow from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Alista will be laid to rest at Paradise Cemetery South, located at 2237 Cullen Blvd, Pearland. Her life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
