She was born on July 15, 1956 and grew up in Pasadena, TX. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in Houston, Texas and attended San Jacinto Jr. College.
Belinda married Jose Cantu Jr. on December 3,1977 and they were happily married for 46 years.
She had a long and successful career at Gulf Coast Credit Union while making friends along the way.
She loved music, reading, dancing, embroidery, cross-stitching, the daily crossword puzzle, and a good game of dominos. Thanksgiving holidays at the farm were just not the same unless she made her famous Sweet Potato Casserole and Chicken and Dumplings.
Although not able to have children, Belinda loved all her nieces and nephews as her own, and became Godmother to 7 of them.
She will be remembered for her faith in God, her warm smile and friendly nature, her easy way of getting to know others, her love for her family and friends, and all things Boston Terrier.
Belinda was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Cantu Jr., her father and mother Phil and Dorothy Novark, and her brothers James and David.
She leaves behind her brother Paul, brother Carter and his wife Jan, sister-in-law Kelly Novark, Novark nieces and nephews and cousins, brother-in-laws Danny, David, Ernie, Albert, Jaime and Charlie, sister-in-laws Maggie and Laya (Cha-Cha), Cantu nieces and nephews, her "adopted" daughter Chikako Iizuka in Tokamachi, Japan, Chika's daughter Mitsuki and many friends and neighbors who will cherish her memory forever.
Belinda made our lives just a little brighter and until we are all together again, "we will just pretend."
We are grateful to all who extended kindness and love to Belinda. May God bless you!
