Chris was born on November 16, 1977 to Carl and Catherine Young in Houston. He attended Strake Jesuit College Prep and Stephen F. Austin University and went on to work as a Union Organizer and Political Consultant. Chris was a passionate animal lover and known for constantly rescuing strays that needed a home. His love of statistics and numbers started early when he knew stats for his favorite baseball players and teams before he was 10. He used this talent to influence changes in the Harris County Politics. He was also an avid sports fan, having participated in swimming, baseball, basketball and football through school and into coaching afterwards.
He is survived by his parents, Carl Eddie Young and Catherine Young; his brother, Michael Young (Shannon); his nephew Max Young; Partner Angela Cook and sons Henry Cook an Guilly Cook; Grandmother Marguarite Funk; and a large community of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Rabey Funk, and Eddie and Bessie Young.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park South , 12662 Shadow Creek Pkwy, Pearland, Texas.
